Some designs are strong enough to stand alone. These are the pieces that transform spaces and inspire viewers. Hugo, a unique sculpture created by Terzani’s master craftsmen, is composed of hand-forged metal stems, encasing a single light. With a graceful, delicate form, Hugo is a welcome guest in any space, intriguing and powerful.

Born in 1949, Jean-François Crochet attended some of the finest decorative art schools in Paris. He recalls that "I came across people who put me to work. I designed several fashion boutiques in the 60s "la Gaminerie-Paris", it was still day time. At night I also designed several night clubs: "Le Tiffany", "La nuit des Rois", "Le club Alexandre" in Montreal. I needed to eat well after all....and so I also designed several restaurants and bars in Paris Bastille. Then in 1985 I laid on the beach right next to Sergio Terzani, three tumbles later I was working in his workshop. I believed I designed lamps, I believed I had memory, I got lost in the past to come back to the light with..." - Jean-Francois Crochet

Terzani

Since its founding in Florence, Italy in 1972, Terzani S.R.L. has worked to meld traditional Italian craftsmanship with modern technology to create lighting that blurs the lines between art, luxury and design.

Founder Sergio Terzani, and CEO Nicolas Terzani, have furthered their experimentation in lighting design with the creation of the Terzani Lab, where new materials, techniques and ideas can be developed and tested.

Terzani continues to commission designs from renowned artists including Bruno Rainaldi, Christian Lava and Dodo Arlsan and from young talent, each adding their unique voices and contributing to Terzani’s extensive collection.
