Erik Magnussen

Erik Magnussen, born in Copenhagen in 1940, studied ceramics at the School of Applied Arts and Design from which he graduated with a silver medal in 1960. 

After starting his career in the porcelain industry Magnussen successfully tried his hand at product design and then expanded into furniture and lighting creations, consistently applying his minimal approach and search for the essence of things.

Today, Erik Magnussen's designs are exhibited in museums all over the world. He has received numerous acknowledgements and awards for his work. He was the youngest person ever to receive the Lunning Prize in 1967 and has been elected "Honorary Royal Designer for Industry" by The Royal Society of Art in London.
