Luc Ramael graduated in 1975 as interior architect at the "Nationaal Hoger Instituut voor Bouwkunst en Stedenbouw" in Antwerp (Belgium), where he lives and works ever since.
After specialized studies in furniture design and photography he worked for several architects and interior designers, establishing finally in 1988 his own studio.

Since 1984 he teaches at several architecture schools in Belgium as professor or external examiner and he was also member of the jury for the prestigious "Interieur 2000" design competition in Kortrijk.
Luc Ramael has been collaborating with lighting and furniture companies in Belgium, Italy and Spain and won several national and international prizes in furniture and lighting competitions.
His furniture designs and interior architecture projects were exposed in several exhibitions.
He designs intimate furniture and lighting objects, without anecdotal humour or exaggerated experimenting. Logic and good taste give rise to useful and familiar objects, always without unnecessary frills.
