Adam D. Tihany is now one of the best-known architects in the world thanks to his many hotel and restaurant projects and is widely regarded as one of the world’s preeminent hospitality designers.
He was born in Transylvania in 1948, raised in Israel, and earned his architectural degree from the Politecnica in Milan. He apprenticed in Europe before moving to New York in 1976. In 1978, Tihany established Tihany Design, his own multidisciplinary New York studio that encompassed all aspects of design, from commercial and residential interiors to furniture, products, exhibitions, and graphics, and eventually began specializing in hospitality design.
Tihany was one of the pioneering designers to collaborate with celebrity chefs and has created multiple signature restaurants for highly acclaimed chefs. Over the last thirty years, Tihany Design has become the leading expert in creating luxurious and innovative interiors in the vibrant world of hospitality. The studio perpetuates the philosophy that every project should be a living, relevant, and unique entity.
