When a centenary old local glass factory shut its doors in Svetla in the Czech Republic, entrepreneur Jiri Trtik decided to hire the skilled craftsmen and engineers who were suddenly left without a job and to build his own glassworks.
Hence, Bomma, one of Europe's most modern glass manufactory, opened its doors in June 2012.
From the onset the focus has been on artisan craftsmanship, contemporary design and innovative technology (the company builds their own cutting machines and tools).
The workshop combines delicate hand-blown glass in small to oversize dimensions with automatic precise cutting and produces some of the clearest crystal in Bohemia.
