In Beirut during the civil war "Green Line" was the name of the line of demarcation separating the two opposing factions of Christians and Muslims. The name referred to the colouring that the street mantle seemed to take from the growth of shrubs and plants through the layers of the asphalt.

"I have personally visited the architectural skeletons on the two sides of the street, which still bear the signs of holes left by the bullets of the snipers who were posted there. Man's actions are often incomprehensible. The only certainty is that a flower will grow again on top of any human error. To put initials to an end and greet a beginning. Fabio Novembre (Lecce, 1966) is an architect and designer internationally known as a leading figure of new Italian design. In 1984 he moved to Milan where he took his degree in Architecture in 1992. In 1994 he was commissioned for his first architectural project: the "Anna Molinari Blumarine" shop in Hong Kong. In the same year he opened his own studio in Milan, where he still lives since then. From 2000 to 2003 he was Art Director for Bisazza. From 2001 he has been collaborating with firms like Cappellini, Driade, Meritalia, Flaminia, Casamania. In 2009 Triennale Design Museum of Milan invited him to concept a show on his work, with the title: "Il fiore di Novembre".

I cut out spaces in the vacuum by blowing air bubbles, and I make gifts of sharpened pins so as to insure I never put on airs.

The identity of Bitossi Ceramiche starts from the beginning of 1900’s and develops upon a productive ceramic tradition that existed in Montelupo Fiorentino starting from 1500.
The activity of the Bitossi family started in 1921 for the will of Guido Bitossi with the establishment of "Manifattura Ceramica Cav. Guido Bitossi & Figli" that combined typical local craft works into a structured productive organisation. The production continues also with the collaboration of leading figures who were able to introduce an innovative cultural artistic sensibility. This attitude in connection with the entrepreneurial skills developed throughout the years with a constant research for the quality of finished products, contributed to create an identity for Bitossi Ceramiche as an example of Italian excellence.
More than 7000 original pieces starting from the 50’s, were collected and filed in the "Bitossi Industrial Archive"; 200 selected pieces among those can be seen at MAIB - Artistic Industrial Bitossi Museum, which was built by the company to showcase its historical path.
Bitossi Ceramiche is still run by the same family and thanks to the historical and cultural heritage that was recovered in these last years, it keeps alive its original craft roots, combined with a constant innovation. A never ending formal research and the skilled hands of ceramicist masters led to the development of the creations of Aldo Londi who was Art Director at Bitossi Ceramiche for more than 40 years, followed by several influential designers, always focusing on style evolution.
