Elena Cutolo was born in Naples (Italy) in 1966. She studied architecture in Naples and Barcelona and she graduated in 1992.
In 1993 she moved to Paris working for Reichen&Robert studio architecture.
Since 1998 she is being living in Milan where she began to collaborate with Sottsass & Associates for architectural projects.
From 2002 to 2007 she works closely together with Ettore Sottsass. "For six years, like two kids among pencils, watercolours, rulers, mock-ups and an endless list of projects and things to do we design: furniture, jewels, silverware, ceramics, glasses, objects, lamps, exhibitions and interiors, till the last project "la cabina del desiderio" for Francesco Vezzoli."
During this period, Elena Cutolo was left in charge of interior decoration projects, exhibition design and object and furniture design for Sottsass & Associates.
"What Maestro Sottsass left to me? The desire to experiment, to discover, to learn, to imagine new things watching everything already existing and surrounding me. It is a continuous job; it comes up without a real buyer and needs great energy. To me creativity is a sensorial need. It pushed by a childish enthusiasm, which needs to be continuously fed." - Elena CutoloRead more
