Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974. Times magazine included Hayon as one of the 100 most relevant creators of our times and Wallpaper magazine has listed him as one of the most influential creators of the last decade.

With offices in Italy, Spain and UK, Hayon’s main interest is to find challenges and new perspectives. His vision blurs the lines between art, decoration and design, bringing back a renaissance in finely-crafted, intricate objects within the context of contemporary design culture: creating furniture, products, interiors, sculptures and art Installations.

His unique style was first fully exposed in "Mediterranean Digital Baroque" at London’s David Gill Gallery, followed by many exhibitions and installations set up in major galleries and museums worldwide. His concern for the conservation of craft skills and his way of challenging design has led him to develop renowned work for Baccarat, Fritz Hansen, The Groningen Museum, Bisazza, Bosa, La Terraza del Casino, Lladró, Magis, Established & Sons and Faberge among many others.
His influence and variety has received many important International awards. In 2008, Jaime was guest of honor at Belgium’s Interieur Biennial, the youngest person ever to receive the accolade.

Originally named "La Exportadora del Mimbre", Expormim was founded in 1960 and specialized in the manufacturing and export of high quality wicker products.

During the 70's Expormim started to create products made from cane and with the simultaneous advent of mass tourism and a new appreciation for outdoor living their lounge and armchairs made from natural materials were in high demand all along the beaches of the Mediterranean coast.

The 80's saw a shortage of both cane and wicker in Spain and the company started to import rattan from Indonesia while also expanding their catalogue to offer tables, sideboards, beds and all the products needed to cover the furnishing needs of the thousands of second residences that were being built on the Spanish coasts.

In following years both the availability and acceptance of rattan diminished and the company adapted by introducing a collection made from more sustainable beech wood. The collection is a hit and allows Expormim to enter the market of trendy café's and hotels around the world.

With more than 50 years of experience, the company has consolidated its position in the market thanks to the ongoing process of modernization with special emphasis on improved manufacturing processes, the careful selection of raw materials and a particular focus on the impeccable design of their products.
