Ron Arad's unconventional design approach always creates a challenge in the way materials are used in both the design and production stages.

Do-Lo-Rez is a union of two pieces, rug and sofa, conceived as a single element. Created jointly, they form an unusual project that brings the virtual world closer to the real world. Its name comes from the expression "do low resolution". The idea came to him after seeing a pixelated image in low resolution, which has materialised into a three-dimensional surface.

The rug is made through the hand tufting technique, making each square a different height from the ones beside it. On the other hand, its extraordinary format involves multiple vertices that seem like the final pieces of an unfinished puzzle. This game of volume and levels allows for made-to-measure, customised rugs.

Born in Tel Aviv in 1951, educated at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem and later at the Architectural Association in London, Ron Arad co-founded the design and production studio One Off in 1981 and later, in 1989, the Ron Arad Associates architecture and design practice.
From 1994 to 1999 he established the Ron Arad Studio, design and production unit in Como, Italy. He was Professor of Design Product at the Royal College of Art in London up until 2009, was awarded the 2011 London Design Week Medal for design excellence and became a Royal Academician of the Royal Academy of Arts in 2013.
Ron Arad's constant experimentation with the possibilities of materials such as steel, aluminium or polyamide and his radical re-conception of the form and structure of furniture has put him at the forefront of contemporary design and architecture.
Alongside his limited edition studio work, Arad designs for many leading international companies including Moroso, Fiam, Driade, Cassina, Kartell and Vitra among many others.
Ron Arad is honorary professor at the "Hochschule" in Vienna, honorary curator of the International Design Yearbook and alongside his architectural projects has designed a number of public art pieces.
His works are included internationally in the most prestigious public collections.

Moroso was founded in 1952 by Agostino and Diana Moroso. In many respects, the current status of innovative and fashionable style of the Moroso company has been achieved thanks to the efforts of their daughter, Patrizia Moroso.

Before becoming creative director, Patrizia studied at art school in Bologna. However, in the late 70's, at the insistence of her parents, she decided to join the family business.  Her artistic background immediately proved to be invaluable. To develop new projects, she involved not only well-known designers - such as Ron Arad, Enrico Franzolini, Marc Newson, and Patricia Urquiola to name but a few - but also young and talented designers.

At present, the company is working with 34 designers from 22 countries.

In the 90's, Moroso was the first furniture manufacturer to be awarded top ISO quality certificates and more recently, in view of the close connection between quality and impact on the environment, Moroso has decided to use "clean", non-polluting production processes, and materials that are natural or as recyclable as possible.

Feedback, design, global quality, respect for the environment: all these words are not empty rhetoric for Moroso but big and little marks of attention that are associated with every single moment of the company´s work.
